More about the Society and its Members

The importance of Cleanrooms in the modern commercial world has never been greater, with increasing demands from consumers, authorities and industry alike to ensure the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness and contamination control.

With some of the leading international names in the pharmaceutical, microelectronic and medical devices sectors servicing their overseas markets from bases in Ireland, we are already recognised as one of the most vibrant and energetic countries on the global cleanroom stage.

The Irish Cleanroom Society was established in 1998 by professionals involved in various sectors of the cleanroom industry to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas and working practices and a support network for Companies involved in cleanroom technology and contamination control.

The Society has become representative of the Irish cleanroom industry with participation by users of cleanroom and controlled environments, designers, constructors, cleanroom consultants and vendors of cleanroom-related products and services.

The ICS is run by an elected Committee and through a number of workgroups encompassing such areas as Standards, Training, Events, Technical and Membership. The formation of special interest groups by the members is actively encouraged.

The ICS is a member of ICCCS (International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies).

The Cleanrooms Ireland Conference & Exhibition is the premier event on the ICS' calendar and was established to:

  • give the most up-to-date information on global developments
  • exhibit the latest products and services from leading vendors
  • address industry concerns and innovations in an integrated programme of technical papers
